Job Title
Vegetable Harvester and Packhouse/Washline Worker
Responsibilities
Harvest Team Duties
- Harvest vegetables by hand
- Wash and prepare produce for distribution
- Assist with transplanting seedlings, sowing seeds, and weeding
- Support general greenhouse and farm operations
- Follow daily work plans and meet productivity targets
- Work efficiently during high-demand harvest periods
- Lift and move crates of produce weighing up to 22 kg
- Operate basic farm tools and equipment safely
- Monitor produce quality during harvesting
Packhouse/Washline Duties
- Wash vegetables using washline machinery
- Sort and pack produce according to quality standards
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Assist with storage and rotation of packed vegetables
- Complete repetitive tasks with care and focus
- Support additional outdoor tasks such as weeding or seedling transplanting
- Report equipment or produce quality issues to supervisors
- Follow hygiene and food safety guidelines during processing
Requirements and Qualifications
Education
No formal education required
Experience
Previous experience in physically demanding or outdoor roles is preferred but not essential.
Skills
- Physical stamina for lifting up to 22 kg repeatedly
- Attention to detail when packing or sorting produce
- Time management and ability to follow structured routines
- Positive attitude and willingness to contribute to team goals
- Comfortable working in varying weather conditions
Knowledge
- Awareness of basic organic farming practices is beneficial
- Familiarity with farm hygiene and food safety protocols
