Packaging Operator

Responsibilities

  • Fire up packaging machines, including fancy digital ones, to hit daily quotas.
  • Swap out setups for different products without missing a beat.
  • Check products and packing materials to keep quality top-notch.
  • Keep the work area spick-and-span, following Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Make sure product codes are bang-on for rules and standards.
  • Tidy up tool boards and carts for quick switches between runs.
  • Jot down production notes and checklists with care.
  • Keep tabs on performance goals to nail SQCDPE targets.
  • Wipe down machines to keep things safe and running like a charm.
  • Show up for team huddles and training to stay in the loop.
  • Sort out any curveballs calmly to keep the line moving.
  • Get comfy with different packing machines to stay flexible.
  • Stick to McCain’s “safety first” rulebook every shift.
  • Pitch in with inventory checks to keep supplies ready.
  • Tackle extra tasks when the boss needs a hand.

Requirements

Education

Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent practical experience is required. Extra training in mechanics or factory work is a bonus.

Experience

0-2 years of experience in a factory, warehouse, or equipment-handling role, preferably in food production or similar.

Skills

  • Handy with machines, able to tweak and troubleshoot on the go.
  • Good at keeping things organized in a fast-moving work zone.
  • Clear, friendly chatter to mesh with the team.
  • Strong enough to lift 30 lbs. without a struggle.
