Caregiver (Care Professional)
Responsibilities
- Chat and connect with clients, maybe sharing a laugh over a favorite show.
- Help with personal care, like assisting with bathing or getting dressed.
- Do light chores, such as folding laundry or cooking a simple soup.
- Remind clients to take meds or get to doctor’s appointments on time.
- Offer companionship, playing cards or going for a short walk.
- Support clients with Alzheimer’s, keeping them calm and engaged.
- Treat clients’ homes and belongings with respect, like family.
- Drive to clients in Leduc, Calmar, or Millet for out-of-town shifts.
- Keep records of visits, noting tasks like meal prep or med reminders.
- Stay available for consistent weekly shifts, including every other weekend.
- Work some holidays with premium pay for extra hours.
- Report health changes, like a client feeling unsteady, to supervisors.
- Pitch in on team training to learn new care techniques.
- Stay flexible for day, evening, or overnight shifts.
- Communicate warmly with clients and families for trust.
Requirements
Education
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience
Caregiving experience in homes or senior communities is a plus.
Skills
- Compassionate and respectful for building client trust.
- Strong English communication, both verbal and written.
- Reliable with a valid driver’s license and own vehicle.
- Flexible for consistent weekly availability, including weekends.
