Advanced Horticulture Limited
Looking for short-term work this winter? There’s a spot open at a cherry orchard in Cromwell starting around July 21 and going until late August. The job’s all about helping out on the field — planting young trees, setting up irrigation, and keeping things tidy. It’s casual work, but there’s always something going on. Pay is $24 an hour plus 8 percent holiday pay. It’s cold out there this time of year, so you’ll need to be okay working outdoors in winter weather. A few positions are available, and work hours can shift depending on the weather.
About Advanced Horticulture’s
Advanced Horticulture’s based in Cromwell and has been building up its cherry orchards since 2023. The team’s already planted more than 50 hectares, and the setup keeps growing. A lot of the work is seasonal, so they bring people in during busy times like planting or harvest. It’s not a fancy place — more hands-on and practical — but it’s a good chance to get involved in something real and learn on the go. If you’re after something active and outdoors, this kind of job fits.
