Welder
Responsibilities
- Weld steel using MIG or TIG methods as needed.
- Set up parts with tools for accurate welding.
- Check welds to match quality and design specs.
- Adjust and care for welding gear daily.
- Count parts to ensure production needs are met.
- Inspect finished work for errors or flaws.
- Tidy up the workspace at shift’s end.
- Put away tools neatly after use.
- Stick to safety rules at all times.
- Keep up with repetitive tasks in a fast environment.
- Team up with coworkers to hit production targets.
- Do light maintenance on welding equipment.
- Log work details and flag problems quickly.
- Help with quality checks as required.
- Pitch in on other shop tasks when asked.
Requirements
Education
Must have a DEP in Welding or a trade school certificate. A completed welding apprenticeship counts too.
Experience
Need 2-4 years welding in a factory or shop setting. Strong hands-on experience can work in place of formal training.
