Welder / Sheet Metal Worker

Responsibilities

• Cut aluminium and stainless steel to exact sizes for projects.
• Weld aluminium using MIG and stainless steel using TIG for solid joins.
• Check CAD drawings and site plans to guide work accurately.
• Polish stainless steel on job sites for a clean finish.
• Measure materials to save resources and fit parts correctly.
• Build jigs to make welding steady and precise.
• Use brake press and guillotine to shape sheet metal.
• Run CNC routers for special tasks, if trained.
• Follow safety rules for fencing and balustrade jobs.
• Keep tools and work areas clean for safety.
• Manage full projects, from planning to final checks.
• Work with teammates to finish jobs on time.
• Inspect welds and parts to match industry standards.
• Stick to workplace safety rules during all tasks.
• Track job progress and report to supervisors.

Requirements

Education

• Trade certificate in Sheet Metal Work, Boilermaking, or related field.
• Construction Induction Safety (White) Card is a bonus.

Experience

2-5 years of sheet metal fabrication and welding, working with lightweight metals.

Skills

• Skilled in MIG welding aluminium and TIG welding stainless steel.
• Able to read CAD drawings and site plans correctly.
• Knows how to use hydraulic brake press and guillotine.
• Pays close attention to detail for quality welds and finishes.
• Manages time well to meet project deadlines.
• Physically fit to lift materials and work on-site.

Knowledge

• Knows safety standards for fencing and balustrade projects.
• Understands how to handle lightweight metals.
• Familiar with workplace safety practices.
