Responsibilities

• Patch up mining equipment like truck bodies and dozer blades.
• Weld and build parts in the shop or out in the field.
• Catch safety problems and let the supervisor know fast.
• Follow health and safety rules every single day.
• Work with welding types like FCAW, SMAW, GMAW, and GTAW.
• Grind and fix cracks in heavy gear to keep it running.
• Check equipment and structures for wear or damage.
• Do regular maintenance to stop breakdowns before they start.
• Team up with other trades to get repairs done.
• Come up with practical fixes to make equipment better.
• Keep your work area clean and safe for everyone.
• Write down repair details for maintenance logs.
• Show up for safety talks and training when scheduled.
• Handle jobs on your own or with the crew.
• Be ready for every shift, no matter day or night.

Requirements

Education

Interprovincial Red Seal Welder Certification or Journeyperson Welder Certification is required. A B Pressure welding ticket gives you an edge.

Experience

Best if you’ve got 2-3 years welding structures or fixing heavy equipment. Mining experience is a bonus but not a dealbreaker.

Skills
