Responsibilities
- Weld and fabricate finished metal parts for projects
- Follow technical drawings and blueprints to meet requirements
- Perform installations and component repairs as directed
- Measure and verify material specs before and after welding
- Check work against tolerances and perform weld quality tests
- Maintain a clean and safe working area
- Use standard and specialty welding tools
- Read and interpret written instructions or schematic diagrams
- Assist with field repairs or custom fabrication tasks
- Follow all shop safety policies and equipment guidelines
- Work both independently and with a small fabrication team
- Keep track of work orders and timelines
- Participate in shop meetings or safety briefings
- Provide feedback to supervisors when problems arise
- Help troubleshoot on-site mechanical issues if needed
Requirements and Qualifications
Education:
- No formal degree required
- Welding certifications preferred (3G Plate Test mandatory)
Experience
- Prior welding or fabrication experience is required.
- Manufacturing or industrial site experience is helpful.
Skills
- Proficient with MIG and other welding techniques.
- Able to read blueprints and detailed project layouts.
- Good physical stamina for lifting and movement.
- Familiar with hand tools and cutting equipment.
- Ability to follow instructions precisely.
- Comfortable working in busy or loud environments.
Knowledge
- Understanding of welding tolerances and quality checks.
- Experience with shop safety and PPE use.
- Familiar with metal types and how they react to welding.
