Responsibilities
- Translate technical reports, contracts, manuals, and presentations from English to Arabic and vice versa
- Make sure the original tone and meaning are preserved
- Assist engineering and management teams with accurate communication
- Interpret spoken communication during meetings or site visits
- Review and proofread translated documents for clarity and accuracy
- Work closely with subject matter experts to understand technical context
- Help with translation of legal or regulatory documents when needed
- Edit and refine translated content based on team feedback
- Manage document formatting and consistency across both languages
- Maintain organized records of translated materials
- Follow internal standards and comply with company documentation policies
Requirements and Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in translation, linguistics, engineering, or any relevant field
Experience
- At least 10 years in translation work
- Minimum 6 years in oil and gas or a related industry
Skills
- Native-level Arabic and fluent English
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Familiarity with technical and engineering terms
- Comfortable working under deadlines
- Able to use basic translation tools and Microsoft Office
Knowledge
- Understanding of oil and gas project workflows
- Knowledge of contract language and technical documentation
- Familiarity with civil/structural engineering content
- Clear grasp of both formal and conversational writing styles
