Translator Airswift Qatar

Airswift  is looking for a translator who’s comfortable jumping between Arabic and English, especially with technical material. This is a full-time gig in Qatar ,mostly focused on supporting engineering teams working on oil and gas projects. You’ll need to be pretty sharp with both languages, especially when it comes to civil or structural terms. They’re after someone who’s already got solid experience under their belt around 10 years post-graduation, with at least 6 years of that in the oil and gas space. If you’ve worked with engineering drawings, reports, or technical manuals before, and you’re used to bouncing between teams and departments to make sure everyone’s on the same page you’ll fit right in.

Responsibilities

• Translate technical documents and reports (Arabic ↔ English)
• Sit in on meetings and help bridge language gaps
• Make sure technical terms are accurate and contextually right
• Work with civil/structural engineers to get the meaning clear
• Help review bid documents, training materials, and manuals
• Keep an eye on terminology changes in engineering standards
• Provide on-the-spot translations when needed
• Assist with documentation for safety, compliance, and reporting

Requirements

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (engineering or languages preferred)

Experience

• At least 10 years in total after graduating
• 6+ years in oil, gas, or related industry work
• Solid experience handling technical translations

Skills

• Really strong Arabic and English (spoken & written)
• Familiarity with engineering and construction terms
• Comfortable juggling multiple tasks and tight deadlines
• Good eye for detail — accuracy is everything
• Strong communicator — not afraid to ask questions or clarify
