An hourly paid English teacher is needed for the British Council’s Linkou branch in New Taipei City, Taiwan. There is a part -time role on the site that is mainly this weekend, with a competitive per hour on the NT $ 950. The role is beneficial for teachers with proven expertise in teaching English to young students and adults. Responsibility includes class distribution, course construction and maintenance of high standards for educational performance. Applicants must possess a CELTA or Trinity CertTESOL and demonstrate high English ability at CEFR C2 level. A bachelor’s degree in any subject is also necessary.

Job Title

Teacher of English – Hourly Paid

Responsibilities

• Deliver effective and interesting English language classes to diverse age groups
• Prepare tailored lesson plans based on academic standards
• Monitor student progress and retain academic records
• Provide positive comments to students and parents
• Support curriculum development and content review
• Ensure classroom management and discipline
• Participate in performance reviews and feedback sessions
• Collaborate with academic staff to maintain teaching quality
• Attend training sessions and workshops for professional development
• Promote UK culture via classroom involvement
• Maintain compliance with child safety and safeguarding policies
• Submit timely administrative and student reports
• Contribute to departmental meetings and planning

Requirements and Qualifications

Education

• Cambridge CELTA or Trinity CertTESOL (mandatory)
• Undergraduate degree in any field (mandatory)
• DELTA or equivalent, PGCE/B.Ed. preferred for added consideration

Experience

• Minimum 2 years post-CELTA or Trinity CertTESOL teaching experience
• At least 400 hours teaching each of the following age groups is preferred:
• Ages 4–7
• Ages 8–12
• Ages 13–17
• Adults 18+
