Responsibilities
- Haul roll-off bins to and from waste sites around Conklin.
- Check your truck before and after runs, eyeing tires and brakes.
- Secure loads tight to meet weight limits and safety rules.
- Fill out daily safety forms, like JSAs, without cutting corners.
- Chat with dispatch on the 2-way radio to stay on track.
- Handle minor rig upkeep, like greasing joints or checking filters.
- Report any truck or load issues to the boss right away.
- Drive through snow, mud, or heat, keeping steady in tough weather.
- Turn in logs, manifests, and receipts on time every shift.
- Keep customer service sharp, dealing with clients professionally.
Requirements
Education
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience
3 years driving roll-off trucks, with a clean record.
Skills
- Class 1 Driver’s License with a spotless abstract.
- Clear talker, both on radio and with customers.
- Works well with a crew but can handle tasks solo.
- Tough enough to drive in rough weather or road conditions.
- Organized to juggle logs and safety paperwork.
- Knows Fort McMurray’s backroads like their own backyard.
Knowledge
- Solid grasp of NSC standards and transport rules.
- Familiar with labeling waste loads and manifests.
- Basics of truck maintenance, like greasing or inspections.
- Awareness of safety in oilfield waste hauling.
- Insight into working with dispatch for efficiency.
- Understanding of keeping loads legal and safe.
