Responsibilities
- Carry out stock work including movement, monitoring, and animal welfare.
- Assist with health treatments, vaccines, and routine inspections.
- Manage pasture through grazing rotation and feed budgeting.
- Perform basic fencing, upkeep, and repairs as needed.
- Operate farm equipment in a safe and regulated manner.
- Report any health or safety issues on the property.
- Work closely with supervisors, rangers, and fellow staff.
- Follow farm plans aligned with environmental conservation policies.
- Transport livestock and supplies between locations when required.
- Use farm technology tools as directed for monitoring and reporting.
- Ensure cattle are managed in conformity with animal welfare standards.
- Contribute to seasonal duties such as lambing, shearing, and drenching.
- Support general upkeep of farming infrastructure.
- Respond flexibly to farm workloads and shifting priorities.
- Maintain accurate records and assist in stock inventory processes.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education
- Recent completion of agricultural or vocational training preferred
- Qualifications in farm management or livestock care are an advantage
Experience
- At least 1–2 years of practical experience in livestock handling
- Experience with working dogs is essential (1–2 well-managed dogs required)
