Responsibilities

  • Patrol specified locations to ensure compliance with parking laws
  • Educate the public on parking rules and promote voluntary compliance
  • Issue infringement notifications when required
  • Respond to public queries and give clear, courteous instructions
  • Maintain thorough records of inspections and infractions
  • Participate in the Regulatory Afterhours Responder roster
  • Address community concerns regarding bylaws, animal control, and environmental issues
  • Operate and update information using handheld smart devices
  • Engage positively with both residents and visitors
  • Report on vehicle or equipment issues and ensure daily readiness
  • Maintain high standards of personal and professional conduct
  • Provide assistance during events and public safety activities
  • Work in a physically active role requiring prolonged walking
  • Follow safety protocols and uphold Council procedures
  • Collaborate effectively with internal departments when required

Requirements and Qualifications:

Education

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Experience

Previous regulatory or compliance experience is advantageous but not essential

Skills

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication
  • Calm and respectful conflict resolution skills
  • Time management and the ability to work independently
  • Competence with digital tools and mobile devices
  • Ability to drive both automatic and manual vehicles

Knowledge

  • General understanding of parking bylaws and city regulations (training provided)
  • Familiarity with local geography and community layout
  • Basic awareness of environmental response protocols

  • Awareness of health and safety practices
