Responsibilities
- Use a mattock to place data nodes in the ground.
- Follow GPS directions to find exact placement locations.
- Lift and carry nodes (1–2 kg) and crates (up to 10 kg).
- Collect nodes after data has been recorded.
- Remove batteries and data modules for charging and storage.
- Drive 4WD vehicles (like Toyota Hilux) across rough terrain.
- Walk long distances in remote areas, sometimes in extreme heat.
- Stick to safety rules and wear the correct gear.
- Set up equipment carefully and double-check placement points.
- Assist with basic maintenance or troubleshooting of gear.
- Load and unload equipment each day.
- Communicate clearly with team leaders and follow task lists.
- Keep track of gear and materials in the field.
- Help manage batteries and tech tools at the base camp.
- Report any hazards or issues to supervisors immediately.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education
No formal degree or diploma required.
Experience
- 0 to 1 year of outdoor labour work preferred.
- Freshers accepted if physically fit and ready to learn.
Licenses/Certificates
- Must have an Australian Manual Driver’s Licence (P2 or above).
- Willing to complete medical and safety training before deployment.
Skills
- Comfortable with physical tasks and working outdoors.
- Can lift up to 25 kg repeatedly.
