Responsibilities
- Assist skilled tradespeople on site with daily project tasks.
- Carry materials like lumber, cement, or pipe to designated locations.
- Help prep work areas by measuring, marking, and recording site details.
- Clean up debris, rubble, or hazardous materials from work zones.
- Mix cement and prepare surfaces for excavation or trenching.
- Dig trenches, set up scaffolding, and move material as needed.
- Operate basic hand and power tools for construction support.
- Control traffic and guide vehicles near the project site.
- Support equipment operators with spotting and safe movement.
- Wrap and cover soil piles using poly sheeting or soil binder.
- Make sure tools and materials are put away at the end of each shift.
- Respond to changing site conditions and adjust tasks accordingly.
- Perform daily cleanup and follow safety steps.
- Follow supervisor directions and project layouts accurately.
- Take on other related tasks as required by site leadership.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education
High school diploma is required.
Experience
No minimum experience required, but previous site work is preferred.
Certifications
- 40HR HAZWOPER and 8HR refresher (mandatory)
- Physical clearance for HAZWOPER field work
Skills
- Ability to follow verbal instructions carefully.
- Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting and walking.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varied conditions.
- Able to operate or learn tools and construction equipment.
