Modine Manufacturing Company in Calgary is looking for a welder to work in the morning round in Alberta. There is a full -time job that occurs from 6:00 to 14:30, Monday to Friday. The job needs someone who has worked with FCAW and GMAW on light meter steel, aluminum and stainless steel.To be a candidate, you must be at least a first-year apprentice who can read technical drawings and do maintenance on welding equipment. You need to be able to solve problems well and work quickly. You also need to be able to work overtime and lift up to 50 pounds. Having worked with shears and press brakes before is a plus.

Job Title
Journeyman Welder – Morning Shift.
Responsibilities
- Perform FCAW and GMAW welding on light gauge steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
- Read and interpret technical drawings accurately to complete welding tasks.
- Perform preventive maintenance on welding equipment to ensure the correct task.
- Work effectively in a fast book production environment while maintaining high quality.
- Assist with the operation of shears and press brakes when required.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work area.
- Be available for overtime during weekdays and weekends as needed.
- Lift materials and equipment up to 50 pounds safely.
Requirements
Qualifications
Certification/diploma in Welding or Fabrication Trade
Experience
- FCAW (Flux-Crooked ARC Welding) and GMAW (GAS metal ARC welding) proven experience.
- Experience with preventive maintenance on welding units.
- The experience of using scissors and press brakes is a plus.
Skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical paintings exactly.
- Strong skills in problem solving.
- The ability to multi -roof in a quick book building environment.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Knowledge
- Understanding of welding processes and safety standards
- Familiarity with equipment maintenance and operation in a manufacturing environment.
