Farm Hand—Harvesting

Responsibilities

• Apply fertilizers and insecticides to agricultural regions following safety guidelines.
• Operate and maintain farm equipment such as tractors, seed drills, loaders, and harvesters.
• Plant, nurture, and irrigate crops during the farming season.
• Harvest and package wheat and other agricultural products.
• Load, unload, and transport supplies and produce.
• Perform general farm maintenance and ensure clean working areas.
• Conduct basic welding and use hand tools for equipment care.
• Ensure all activities conform with safety and quality requirements.

Requirements and Qualifications

Education

Secondary (high) school graduation certificate OR equivalent experience.

Experience

Experience an asset; no specific years required.

Skills

• Efficient in using various sorts of farm machinery.
• Skilled at time management and multitasking.
• Ability to execute physically difficult tasks.
• Excellent team cooperation and communication.

Knowledge

• Understanding of wheat agricultural procedures.
• Familiarity with agricultural fertilization and pesticide usage.
• Equipment handling (seed drills, harvesters, etc.).

• Strong attention to safety and detail.

Licenses/Certificates

• Air Brake (Z) Endorsement preferred.
