Farm Hand—Harvesting
Responsibilities
- Apply fertilizers and insecticides to agricultural regions following safety guidelines.
- Operate and maintain farm equipment such as tractors, seed drills, loaders, and harvesters.
- Plant, nurture, and irrigate crops during the farming season.
- Harvest and package wheat and other agricultural products.
- Load, unload, and transport supplies and produce.
- Perform general farm maintenance and ensure clean working areas.
- Conduct basic welding and use hand tools for equipment care.
- Ensure all activities conform with safety and quality requirements.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education
Secondary (high) school graduation certificate OR equivalent experience.
Experience
Experience an asset; no specific years required.
Skills
- Efficient in using various sorts of farm machinery.
- Skilled at time management and multitasking.
- Ability to execute physically difficult tasks.
- Excellent team cooperation and communication.
Knowledge
- Understanding of wheat agricultural procedures.
- Familiarity with agricultural fertilization and pesticide usage.
- Equipment handling (seed drills, harvesters, etc.).
- General maintenance and cleaning operations.
- Strong attention to safety and detail.
Licenses/Certificates
- Air Brake (Z) Endorsement preferred.
- Valid driver’s license required.
