A shift allowance applies. This job is ideal for someone who’s used to working with CNC equipment and understands how to program and run machines without needing direction. If you’ve worked in the glass industry, that’s a bonus. What matters most is a practical mindset, confidence reading technical drawings, and the ability to keep things running smoothly on the floor. Experienced CNC Operators
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC machinery efficiently
- Follow detailed technical drawings and job orders
- Keep machines running smoothly and troubleshoot issues quickly
- Handle glass or related materials with care and accuracy
- Carry out regular quality checks to ensure precision
- Complete shift reports and communicate any delays or faults
- Assist in achieving daily and weekly production targets
- Follow all safety guidelines and wear provided PPE
- Stay involved in team huddles and production updates
- Maintain work areas in clean and safe condition
- Help train or guide newer staff when required
- Monitor inventory for machine tools and consumables
- Flag maintenance issues to reduce downtime
- Suggest process improvements or identify bottlenecks
- Communicate clearly with team leaders and production staff
Requirements and Qualifications
Education
- No specific degree required
- Industry certifications in CNC or mechanical trades are valued
Experience
- 2+ years of experience in CNC machine programming and operation
- Previous work in the glass sector is considered a strong advantage
Skills
- Confident in CNC software and machine controls
- Able to read mechanical and technical drawings
- Strong focus on safety and workplace procedures
- Good communication across shifts and departments
- Time-efficient with a proactive attitude
- Able to work independently and under pressure
Knowledge
- General knowledge of automated production systems
- Familiarity with glass processing or similar materials
- Awareness of health and safety legislation
- Understanding of machine calibration and tool changes
- Basic preventative maintenance principles
- Production workflow and lean manufacturing practices
