Job Title
Excavator Operator
Responsibilities
- Operate an excavator to support daily pit and production activities
- Perform machine maintenance, including greasing, refueling, and oil changes
- Clean equipment and maintain cab interior
- Complete daily equipment checklists and service logs
- Record hours, maintenance activity, and service dates accurately
- Maintain consistent feed to ensure quality production output.
- Monitor material volumes and quality.
- Assist with loading, unloading, and transporting aggregates.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental procedures.
- Wear company-approved personal protective equipment at all times.
- Collaborate with foremen and site personnel to coordinate tasks.
- Implement continuous improvement and best practices onsite.
- Operate within safety parameters, reporting hazards or incidents.
- Follow traffic and site protocols while moving equipment.
- Participate in pre-employment testing and company safety training
Requirements and Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience
Previous experience operating heavy equipment (minimum 1 year preferred).
Skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable performing repetitive physical tasks.
- Mechanical understanding for basic maintenance tasks.
- Safety-focused and detail-oriented.
Knowledge
- Familiarity with pit operations and material handling.
- Knowledge of equipment servicing protocols..

- Understanding of load balancing and excavation techniques.
