Responsibilities

  • Assemble, inspect, test, and install industrial electrical equipment like raceways and cabling.
  • Maintain systems and components, including grounding, motor termination, and VFDs.
  • Perform de-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up for lumber mill machinery.
  • Optimize machine centers to boost productivity in sawmills or planer mills.
  • Implement preventative and scheduled maintenance for electrical gear.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and repair with minimal downtime, using schematics or drawings.
  • Coordinate with trades, programmers, and supervision for safe operations.
  • Read and interpret drawings and specifications for accurate work.
  • Build relationships with co-workers and clients on-site.
  • Adhere to safety standards and regulations at all times.

Requirements

Education

Journeyman certification or Red Seal ticket.

Experience

Minimum 3 years in live sawmills/planer mills or similar; 3 years with industrial manufacturing equipment.

Skills
