Job Title
Electrician – Night Shift
Responsibilities
- Install and maintain electrical wiring and production equipment.
- Troubleshoot faults using schematics, HMI screens, and control systems.
- Assist with rebuilds and repairs involving welders and electrical parts.
- Identify failed components using diagrams and test tools.
- Support major shutdowns and urgent maintenance activities.
- Inspect machines routinely and make performance adjustments.
- Use power tools to install machinery based on circuit layouts.
- Communicate issues clearly with team members and supervisors.
- Operate lifts and tow motors, keeping licenses current.
- Participate in safety meetings and continuous improvement efforts.
- Keep maintenance logs and update repair records.
- Provide support across departments when required.
- Interpret safety circuits and isolate electrical problems efficiently.
- Work in alignment with company policies and electrical codes.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education
Licensed Industrial Electrician (Ontario 442A or equivalent)
Experience
At least 5 years in a manufacturing or plant maintenance role
Skills
- Strong reading of schematics and electrical diagrams
- Skilled in troubleshooting control panels and PLC systems
- Comfortable working with HMIs and automated systems
- Hands-on with electrical hand tools and diagnostic equipment
- Familiar with lockout/tagout and safety protocols
- Team-focused, adaptable, and proactive under pressure
Knowledge
- Ontario Electrical Safety Code and related regulations
