Job Title
DZ Truck Driver
Responsibilities
- Deliver and transport petroleum and/or propane in bulk to client sites in a safe manner.
- Keep an eye on client storage tanks and make sure they are refueled on schedule according to supply levels and consumption.
- Accurately fill out all delivery paperwork and return records for billing.
- Follow business policies and safety regulations when operating vehicles and associated equipment.
- Examine your car every day and report any maintenance issues.
- To guarantee efficient delivery operations, keep in touch with dispatch and customers.
- When necessary, adhere to emergency protocols and handle dangerous materials with care.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Valid Class D Driver’s License with Air Brake Endorsement is required.
No formal diploma or college degree is mandatory for this role.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years commercial driving experience is required.
- Previous experience in bulk petroleum or propane delivery is considered an asset.
Skills
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good judgment and decision-making abilities
- Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to operate electronic delivery and logging devices
Knowledge
- Understanding of road safety and hazardous material handling procedures.
- Familiarity with local routes in and around Guelph, ON.
- Basic knowledge of truck inspection and maintenance procedures.
