This job involves driving trucks, tankers, sweepers basically, anything big and on wheels that helps keep things moving for the operations team. As a Driver HGV ou’ll yneed to know your way around the roads and be okay with different shifts, sometimes early, sometimes late. The work is mostly outdoors, and you’ll be expected to handle basic inspections, keep logs, and follow instructions on where to go and what to transport. If you’ve got a UAE heavy vehicle license (Category 4) and have been driving in the region for a few years already, this could be the right fit. The team works hard but supports each other, and reliability really matters here.

About ENGIE Solutions

ENGIE Solutions is one of those companies that handles a lot of the stuff people don’t always see but it matters. They’re involved in keeping public places running, managing energy systems, and handling daily operations for buildings and city spaces. In the UAE, they’ve got teams working on things like maintenance, transport, and logistics. They’re part of a bigger international group, but their local work feels pretty hands-on. The people there care about doing things properly and keeping things safe. If you’ve worked in facility support or operations, you’ve probably crossed paths with something they’ve been part of even if you didn’t realize it.

Job Title

Heavy Vehicle Driver (HGV)

Responsibilities

  • Drive whatever heavy vehicle is needed that day — could be a sweeper, water tanker, or even a 10-ton truck.
  • The main goal is simple: get to the right place on time and without issues.
  • Routes or daily plans are usually shared by the site team before the shift starts.
  • Before driving, it’s expected to do a basic check — brakes, fuel, tires, lights — to make sure everything’s okay.
  • If there’s anything wrong with the vehicle, report it right away.
  • Some days are smooth, others might be longer, especially during events or if something unexpected comes up.

Requirements and Qualifications

License Needed

You’ll need a valid UAE heavy vehicle license Category 4 since that’s what this role involves.

Experience

Most folks in this kind of job have a few years of experience. Around three years of driving large vehicles in the UAE is a solid starting point.

Education

There’s no formal education required. A college degree isn’t needed. What really matters is practical knowledge.

Mechanical Awareness

It helps if you know how to check the basics on your vehicle — like tire pressure, fuel, brakes, and fluid levels — so you’re not caught off guard.

Industry Background (Optional)

If you’ve done work in logistics, public transport, or municipal driving, that’s a plus — but not a must.

Applicant Location

This one’s only for people already living in the UAE. If you’re outside the country, it won’t be possible to consider your application right now.
