Responsibilities
- Push dirt with dozers to shape pit floors and build bunds for mining work.
- Give equipment a once-over daily to make sure it’s ready to roll.
- Take orders from the mining boss to hit production targets.
- Keep pit floors level and stick to design plans.
- Cut down on ore dilution to keep the output clean.
- Maintain haul roads, stockpiles, and dumps for smooth site flow.
- Move material as told to prep roads and work areas.
- Stick to Thiess’ safety rules and wear proper gear like hard hats.
- Run pre-start checks to catch problems early.
- Keep the site clean with top-notch housekeeping.
- Scribble down clear notes on dozer use and fixes.
- Work well with the crew to keep things moving.
- Throw out ideas to make the pit safer or faster.
- Grind through a 2:1 roster, including night shifts, without losing focus.
Requirements
Education
High school diploma or equivalent. Valid dozer tickets (SOA/VOC) are a must.
Experience
5 years running CAT D10, D11, D10T, or 854K dozers in a production mine.
