Job Title
Cotton Gin Grablift Operator.
Responsibilities
- Here’s a snapshot of what you’ll actually be doing on site:
- Using forklifts and grablifts to stack and unstack cotton bales
- Moving and placing product based on production flow
- Monitoring machines with gauges and digital screens
- Performing routine checks on machinery—oil, battery, tyre pressure, etc.
- Keeping radiators clean of lint and maintaining proper airflow
- Following safety rules to the letter and making sure everyone else does too
- Helping keep the site clean and functional
- Directing trucks to the right bays for loading/unloading
- Pitching in for overtime and weekend shifts when things get hectic
- Reporting any issues or important updates directly to the Site Manager
Requirements and Qualifications
Must have
- Valid forklift licence
- Experience using forklifts and grablifts
- Willingness to work up to 6 days/week, including nights and weekends
- Punctual, reliable, and safety-conscious
Education
No formal qualifications required, but any training in machinery operation or warehousing is a plus.
Skills & Knowledge
- Confident operating forklifts and/or grablifts in a production or farming environment.
- Physically fit you’ll be on your feet, sometimes in hot and dusty conditions
- Good awareness of workplace safety and basic mechanical knowledge (oil, fluids, machine care).
- Able to follow verbal and written instructions clearly.
- A team player you’re working alongside others and need to communicate well.
- Understanding of agricultural or cotton ginning environments is highly valued.
