Responsibilities

  • Assisting residents with getting dressed and ready for the day.
  • Helping with meals and encouraging good nutrition.
  • Supporting individuals with mobility or light physical activity.

  • Making sure living spaces are clean and safe.
  • Noticing small changes in a resident’s mood or health and flagging it.
  • Working closely with nurses and other staff.

  • Staying calm under pressure and offering reassurance when needed.
  • Learning and adapting—every day is different.

Requirements

Education

Formal education isn’t a barrier. A healthcare-related certificate is helpful but not mandatory.

Experience

  • Previous experience in aged care is nice to have, but full training is provided. People from customer-facing jobs like hospitality or retail often do well in this role.
