If you enjoy a fast-paced environment, like solving real problems, and want to work with a crew that backs each other up — this could be right up your alley. You’ll be handling day-to-day electrical work, keeping things ticking across the plant. The role includes working a 4 days on / 4 days off rotating shift, 12 hours per day, so you’ll have solid downtime between your work blocks.

Maintenance Electrician
Responsibilities
- Keep plant equipment running smoothly with regular maintenance.
- Troubleshoot issues and respond to breakdowns.
- Assist with installing and upgrading electrical systems.
- Use your skills to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
- Log work clearly and follow safety protocols.
- Be part of project work as the site continues to upgrade.
- Think on your feet and suggest better ways of doing things.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education
- A New Zealand-recognised electrical trade certificate
- Full EWRB (Electrical Workers Registration Board) registration
Experience
- Previous hands-on work in a production plant or industrial setting is a plus
- Any time spent working with PLCs and VSDs will come in handy
- Experience managing solo tasks while staying aligned with a larger team
Skills
- Strong fault-finding ability – you know how to get to the root of the problem fast
- Comfortable working on your own but also reliable in a team environment
- Able to plan your workload and shift priorities when needed
- Confident using tools and systems to log maintenance tasks
Knowledge
- Familiarity with plant equipment and electrical systems in a fast-moving environment
- A safety-first mindset – you understand the risks and how to manage them
