Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and update electrical wiring and fire alarm systems across school sites.
  • Diagnose and fix electrical issues quickly and thoroughly.
  • Run preventive checks and emergency repairs.
  • Keep accurate work logs and equipment inventories.
  • Coordinate with the Maintenance Supervisor on ongoing or upcoming work.
  • Cooperate with school staff and contractors for smooth operations.
  • Occasionally stay late or work extra hours when schools are less busy.

Requirements and Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma.
  • 309A Electrical Construction and Maintenance License (includes one year of community college).

Experience

At least 2 years in a commercial electrical environment.

Skills

  • Works well solo and in teams.
  • Communicates clearly about technical work.
  • Accurate, clean, and professional.
  • Stays organized—juggles jobs and priorities without trouble.
  • Knows when to ask questions or escalate issues.

Knowledge

  • Ontario Electrical Safety Code smart.
